MOM, DAD, ANNA!!!!!
I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a
good week but also a really sad week. Let me explain why.
Two of our investigators dropped us on Tuesday. I had met
with them for the entire time that I have been here. We had taught
everything about the gospel and the mother just didn't have interest.
They are so sweet and it absolutely broke my heart when she told us
she just didn't have interest and that we had taught all of the
English that they wanted. It broke my heart because I know how much
this gospel could bless their lives, and I want that for them so much.
We all have our agency to choose though and you can't force someone to
believe what you want them to. Still, it was just heartbreaking. We
took an earlier dinner because I was having a really hard time keeping
my emotions together. I got home and just pleaded to Heavenly Father
for them. I hope that one day when they are ready that they will
accept this happy and glorious and wonderful message.
On a brighter note, we hadn't met with one of our investigators for three weeks because she was out of town and just didn't have time to meet with us, but we were
able to see her twice last week. We were able to have a great
discussion about baptism and about feeling the Holy Ghost and about
how important it is to have the constant companionship of the Holy
Ghost with us. I hope that one day she will be ready to completely
accept the gospel. Truly that is the hardest thing being a missionary.
The language is hard too, and a whole lot of other things are hard,
but the hardest thing of all is when the ones that you care for most
do not want to accept the gospel. I think I finally understand that.
Last night while we were tracting, I had to wear my purple marshmallow
suit! Winter time is quickly coming and I am so grateful for the warm
coat I have and for the floor heaters in my apartment. I for see a lot
of visits to Dunkin Doughnuts for hot chocolate in the near future
haha :P Other than that, last week was the same as most weeks. It was
a challenging week, but it was a good week too. I am so grateful for
all the music that you sent! We listen to it every single day getting
ready in the mornings, at lunch, and after planning before we go to
sleep. The missionaries have to do another musical number for
sacrament meeting and thankfully I don't have to play the violin for
this one! I learned how to make 만두국 or Mandu soup, and I am learning
how to make other Korean dishes too.
I love you all so much! I am praying for you all constantly, and I
hope you have a wonderful week!
Love, Goodnough 자매

I love the "purple marshmallow suit!" Sounds like she is doing awesome. I hope that the heartbreak is bearable and she finds new investigators! What an awesome person Melissa is!
